Why does my invoice look higher or different this month?

Short answer

Invoice amounts can change due to service changes, usage adjustments, pro-rated charges, discounts ending, or a service being cancelled or terminated. Your contracted pricing does not change unless you are notified in advance, but final invoices often look different due to these adjustments.

Why invoices commonly change

  • Invoices may appear higher or different for several common reasons:

    • A service was added, upgraded, downgraded, or modified

    • A discount, rebate, or incentive period has ended

    • Charges were pro-rated because a service started, changed, or ended partway through the billing cycle

    • A service has been cancelled or terminated, resulting in:

      • Pro-rated charges up to the service end date

      • Remaining charges during a notice period (if applicable)

      • One-off charges such as early termination fees

    • Multiple services are billed on the same invoice

    • The billing period differs from previous invoices

It’s especially common for a final invoice to look higher or different due to these combined adjustments.

What you can check

Before contacting us, you can:

  • Compare this invoice with your previous invoice

  • Review the billing period dates shown on the invoice

  • Check for wording such as pro-rated, adjustment, or termination

  • Look for discounts or rebates that may have ended

  • Confirm whether a service was cancelled partway through the billing period

These checks often explain why an invoice amount has changed.
