When will my number port complete?
Short answer
Your number port completes once your previous provider approves the request. After approval, ports usually complete on the agreed port date, typically during standard business hours.
How port dates work
-
Port dates are set based on confirmation from your current (losing) provider.
-
Most ports complete between 9am and 5pm on the scheduled day.
-
Exact timing is controlled by the losing provider and can’t always be guaranteed to the minute.
What happens on the day of the port
-
Your number will switch from your old provider to us automatically.
-
There may be a short interruption (usually a few minutes) while the transfer completes.
-
No action is required from you during the port.
If your service is live but the number hasn’t ported yet
This is normal during setup.
-
Your service may be active using a temporary number while the port is pending.
-
Once the port completes, your existing number will move across automatically.
-
No additional setup is needed.
If your port is delayed
Ports can be delayed if:
-
Account details don’t exactly match the old provider’s records
-
There’s an outstanding balance with the old provider
-
The port request is rejected or needs clarification
If this happens, we can explain the reason and tell you what’s needed to move it forward.
