Starlink and Broadband Incentives What You Were Offered and How to Claim

Overview

If Starlink broadband or a broadband incentive was agreed as part of your package at the point of sale, this article explains how those agreements work and how to claim any reimbursement owed to you.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is a satellite broadband service used by customers in areas where standard broadband connections such as SoGEA or FTTP are not available. It uses a satellite dish to connect to satellites in space to deliver broadband to your premises.

Starlink is provided by a separate company. Where Better Comms has helped set up Starlink for a customer, we typically agree to cover the cost for the first 18 months to support the transition.

How does the Starlink reimbursement work?

If your agreement includes Starlink cover for the first 18 months, Better Comms will reimburse you for the cost of your Starlink subscription during this period. You have two options for how this is paid:

  • Monthly reimbursement — we reimburse you each month as your Starlink invoices arrive
  • Lump sum payment — we pay the full 18 months upfront in a single payment of £1,350

We recommend the lump sum option as it means the full amount is available in your account ready to cover your Starlink invoices as they come in.

How do I claim my Starlink reimbursement?

To receive your reimbursement:

  • Raise an invoice to Better Comms for the agreed amount
  • Address the invoice to Better Comms (VOIP) Ltd, Ocean 80, 80 Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, BH8 8AQ
  • Include your company headed paper and valid bank details
  • Once received we will arrange payment

What if I was offered three months free?

If three months free was agreed as part of your package this is provided through reimbursement, not a pause in billing. Your lease provider will continue to invoice you from month one as they are a third-party company.

Better Comms will reimburse you for the first three months once you raise an invoice. The reimbursement is calculated as three times your agreed monthly total cost.

What broadband types does Better Comms offer?

Better Comms offers a range of broadband connections depending on what is available at your premises:

  • SoGEA — standard broadband running alongside existing copper infrastructure, no active phone line required
  • FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) — fibre running directly into your property, fastest and most reliable option
  • FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) — fibre running to a street cabinet with copper to your premises
  • 4G Broadband — wireless internet via the mobile 4G network, ideal where fixed line options are limited
  • Starlink — satellite broadband for areas with little or no fixed line availability

If you are unsure which broadband type you are on contact our billing team and we will confirm this for you.
