Getting Started with Your Yealink W59R Cordless Handset
Overview
Welcome to your Yealink W59R! Your cordless handset works alongside the W70B base station, giving you the freedom to take calls anywhere in your workspace.
Key Buttons at a Glance
- Display Screen — shows caller ID, menus and call status
- Green Key — press to make or answer calls
- Red Key — press to end a call, reject an incoming call, or hold to power on/off
- Navigation Keys — browse menus; middle button confirms selections
- Message Key — quick access to voicemail
- Softkeys — the two buttons below the screen; their function changes based on what's on screen
- Speakerphone — toggles hands-free mode
- Mute Key — silences your microphone during a call
Making & Receiving Calls
| Action | How To |
|---|---|
| Place a call | Dial the number, then press the Green Key |
| Answer a call | Press the Green Key or the Accept softkey |
| End a call | Press the Red Key |
| Hold a call | Press Options > Hold > OK — press Resume to return |
| Mute yourself | Press the Mute key — press again to unmute |
Transferring a Call
Blind Transfer (straight through)
- During a call, press Options > Transfer
- Dial the number you want to transfer to
- Press the Transfer softkey to complete
Attended Transfer (announce it first)
- During a call, press Options > Transfer
- Dial the number and press the Green Key
- Speak to the recipient, then press Transfer to connect
Hosting a Conference Call
- Call the first person and get them on the line
- Press Options > Conference — Person 1 is placed on hold
- Dial the second person and press the Green Key
- Once they answer, press the Conf. softkey — everyone is now connected
Handy Tips
- Lock the keypad — press and hold the # key to prevent accidental dials; hold again to unlock
- Call history — press the History softkey from the main screen to view missed, placed and received calls
