Getting Started with Your Yealink T54W Desk Phone
Overview
Welcome to your Yealink T54W! This guide covers everything you need to make and manage calls from day one.
Key Buttons at a Glance
- Display Screen — shows calls, contacts and menus
- BLF Keys — the buttons on the side that light up to show the status of other phones in your office
- Navigation Keys — use these to browse menus; the middle button confirms your selection
- HOLD / TRANSFER / VOICEMAIL — your main call management buttons
- Headset & Speakerphone — choose how you want to listen
- Mute — silences your microphone; glows red when active
- Volume — adjusts the active audio source
Making & Receiving Calls
To place a call:
- Lift the handset or press the speakerphone button
- Dial the number
- Press the Send softkey on screen
To answer a call: Lift the handset or press the flashing green line key
To put a call on hold: Press the Hold button — press it again to resume
To mute yourself: Press the Mute button during a call — press again to unmute
Transferring a Call
Blind Transfer (sends the call straight through without speaking first)
- Press the recipient's green BLF button on the side of the screen
- Once ringing starts, you can hang up
Attended Transfer (speak to the recipient before transferring)
- Press the recipient's green BLF button
- Speak to them — don't worry, your caller is on hold
- When ready, hang up and the call connects automatically
Hosting a Conference Call
- Call the first person and get them on the line
- Press the Conference softkey — Person 1 is placed on hold
- Dial the second person and wait for them to answer
- Press Conference again — all three of you are now connected
Checking Your Voicemail
- Press the dedicated Voicemail button on the side of the screen
- Follow the audio prompts to listen to your messages
