Anti-Fraud Protection
Overview
Anti-Fraud Protection is an optional service included automatically on your Better Comms account. This article explains what it covers, when it is charged, and how to opt out.
What is Anti-Fraud Protection?
Anti-Fraud Protection provides financial cover of up to £10,000 per calendar month if your telephone lines are compromised by an external fraudulent attack. This covers unauthorised usage made from outside your business premises by third parties.
What is not covered?
Anti-Fraud Protection does not cover:
- Unauthorised usage made from within your business premises
- Usage by employees or contractors
- Any fraudulent activity originating internally
When is it charged?
- Anti-Fraud Protection is free for the first 3 months of your agreement
- It is charged at £4.99 per licence per month from month 3 onwards
Is it mandatory?
No. Anti-Fraud Protection is an opt-out service. It is included automatically as a safeguard for all customers but can be removed at any time by contacting us.
Why do we include it automatically?
Telephone fraud is conducted using increasingly sophisticated technology. Whilst every effort is made by Better Comms and our network providers to keep systems secure, no system can provide an absolute guarantee against persistent external attacks. Anti-Fraud Protection gives you a financial safety net should the worst happen.
How do I opt out?
If you would like to remove Anti-Fraud Protection from your account simply contact our billing team and we will arrange removal. This can be done at any time and will take effect from your next billing period.
